The Missouri women's tennis team ended the 2000 spring season on Thursday with a 5-0 loss to Kansas State at the Big 12 Championships. Five singles were played before the match was called.
Freshman Kristina Olshanskaya ended her winning streak at two matches with a loss to Alena Jecminkova 6-3, 6-0. Freshman Marina Zelenovic and sophomore Caitlin Thompson fell in two sets while junior Andrea Friedman and senior Joni Jordan dropped their matches in three sets.
"This match was typical of our year," head coach Blake Starkey said. "We had a couple players do well at the bottom of the lineup and the rest struggled."
Senior Jelena Kocergin was slated to play No. 6 doubles and sophomore Julie Thomas was to double up with Friedman at No. 3 doubles before the match was called.
The Tigers ended their season 4-15 overall and 1-11 in the conference.
