
Mizzou Knocks Off Nebraska on Senior Day

Columbia, Mo.- Two Tiger seniors came up with decisive wins today in their last home match of the season. Urska Juric took out 48th-ranked Gitte Ostermann in three sets, winning 6-1, 5-7, 6-2. Tied at 3-3, the match came down to Lucie Ruskova at No. 6. She came back from being down one set to knock off Nebraska's Katie Garcia, winning the match 3-6, 6-4, 6-3. The Tigers are 11-8 overall and 4-5 in conference play.
Mizzou played its first outdoor home match of the season and struggled with windy conditions. After losing the doubles point, the Tigers needed four singles wins to take the match. Freshman Yelena Olshanskaya stepped up at No. 4 against Anna Oehme, winning 6-2, 6-2. In another big conference match, Mary Barry beat Pamela Castillejos 6-2, 6-3 at No. 5. The loss puts Nebraska at 11-6 overall and 1-4 in conference play.
The Tigers have a two-week break before taking on Iowa State in Aimes on April 17.
