Missouri Women's Tennis Defeats Wichita State 4-3

Wichita, Kan. - The University of Missouri women's tennis team defeated Wichita State 4-3 on Friday. With the win, the Tigers improve their overall record to 7-7.
Missouri earned points in the No. 3, No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 singles matches. At No. 3, Tiger junior Erika Josbena defeated Anna Egorova 7-6, 6-2. At No. 4, Missouri freshman Val Dandik beat Ana Ines Exeni 6-2, 6-3. Amanda Pratzel improved her singles record to 11-3 with a win over Torrie Browning at No. 5. And Chrissy Svetlic earned her fourth win of the season, defeating Jackie Richey 6-1, 6-1. At No. 3 doubles, the Tiger duo of Charlotte Bellis and Lubica Nadasska defeated Genevieve Spink and Jackie Richey 8-4.
Despite winning the No. 3 doubles match, the Tigers fell at No. 1 and No. 2 to lose the doubles point. At No. 1 the Shocker duo of Wendi Webster and Madina Rakhim defeated Yelena Olshanskaya and Chrissy Svetlic 9-8. And at No. 2, Wichita State's Ana Ines Exeni and Anna Egorova defeated Erika Josbena and Amanda Pratzel 8-6.
At No. 1 singles, Wichita State's 82nd-ranked Madina Rakhim defeated Tiger junior Yelena Olshanskaya 7-6, 6-3. And at No. 2, Missouri's Lubica Nadasska fell to Wendi Webster 7-5, 4-6, 10-6.
The Tigers will now head to Lawrence to participate in the Border Showdown match against the 63rd-ranked Jayhawks Saturday at noon.
