Men’s Golf Finishes Second at NGI

Maricopa, Ariz. – The Mizzou men's golf team finished the 2025-26 season on a high note, recording the fifth-best team score in school history as the Tigers placed second at the National Golf Invitational in Arizona.
The Tigers posted a three-round score of 826, tied as the fifth-best 54-hole score in their history and best since posting an 824 during the 2023 Tiger Intercollegiate. Overall, Mizzou finished 38-under par after a final day nine-under, placing second only to champion Grand Canyon.
Three Tigers finished in the top 10 in the 50-golfer field with sophomore Trent Mierl leading the way at -10. Mierl's tally of 206 (69-67-70) is a new collegiate best – topping his previous standard of 207, accomplished twice – as he added six birdies to his three-day total, placing fifth overall after a final-day 70.
Senior Virgilio Paz and junior Brock Snyder finished tied for second on the team and ninth overall. Paz led the Tigers with a final-round tally of 69. The senior played the final seven holes at five-under – picking up an eagle on the 13th hole and adding three more birdies. Overall, he finished with a final score of -8 (68-71-69). Snyder matched the best 54-hole score of his career with his 208 tally, including a final round of one-under (66-71-71).
Freshman Esteban Cruz Bonilla and Reese Roberts also finished in the top 25 on Sunday. Cruz Bonilla carded a six-under tally to place 18th (68-68-74), while Roberts was 24th at -3 (68-76-69).
