  • Along his path to the Big 12 title, Steed avenged three losses from earlier in the season. He had contested bouts with Espinoza-Owens (SDSU), Schubert (OU) and Facundo (OKST) throughout the year, with each foe claiming a past win over the returning All-American. Steed beat all three in the conference tournament by a combined nine points.

  • Went 3-1 overall at Big 12s, advancing to the finals with a technical fall and major decision and earned the automatic bid to his first NCAA Championship
  • Earned his first All-America honors, finishing seventh at 165 pounds at the NCAA Championship by going 5-2 over the three days
  • Totaled three falls at the national tournament in seven minutes, earning him the Gorriaran Award for most pins at the NCAA Championship in the shortest amount of time
  • Collected three major decisions, three technical falls and seven pins throughout his redshirt sophomore season, earning him a .500 bonus rate 
  • Moreover, the seven falls led the team and earned him the Ben Askren Most Falls award 

REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2023-24)

  • Lindenwood Open Champion (157 pounds)
  • Finished redshirt freshman season with a 7-1 record
  • Champion of the 157-pound bracket at Lindenwood Open (Nov. 18)

REDSHIRT SEASON (2022-23)

  • Began his college career with a 16-4 record, competing at both 157 and 165 pounds
  • Competed in four tournaments, placing at least fourth in every bracket
  • Debuted at the Lindenwood Open (Nov. 19) taking second place in the 157-pound bracket
  • Placed third at the Cougar Clash (Dec. 4), winning his three matches in the consolation bracket at 165 pounds
  • Took a third-place result at the UNI Open (Dec. 10) after advancing to the championship semifinals at 165 pounds
  • Wrestled through the consolation bracket at the Southern Scuffle (Jan. 1-2), winning six consecutive matches (four bonus-point victories) to take fourth at 165 pounds
