Columbia, Mo. - The Missouri Women?s Soccer team lost its second in a row Friday, 5-2 to No. 12 Texas A&M at Walton Stadium. Missouri dropped to 11-5, 6-3 in Big 12 play. The Aggies improved to 13-4, 6-3 in Big 12 play.

Texas A&M dominated the game, taking a quick lead in just the fifth minute on a score by Amber Reynolds. In the 14th minute, Texas A&M punched in its second goal on a score by Jessica Martin.

Missouri fired back in the 34th minute of play, when Nikki Thole, scored her 16th of the season on a pass from Erin Grimsley. The goal by Thole made it 2-1 and the Aggies kept that advantage at halftime.

Texas A&M seemed to put the match out of the Tigers? reach in the 54th minute when Nicky Thracher scored her 14th goal of the season to give the Aggies the 3-1 lead. But the Tigers came back, cutting the lead to one goal when Grimsley nailed a penalty kick into the left corner in the 59th minute. The goal, Grimsley?s 12th of the season, put the Tigers back within striking distance.

Texas A&M was equal to the challenge posed by MU. At the 74th minute, Michelle Royal scored her second goal of the season giving the Aggies a 4-2 lead and breaking the backs of the Tigers. Thrasher?s second goal of the match in the 89th minute gave Texas A&M the 5-2 victory.

The loss gave MU consecutive losses for the first time this season and dropped Missouri into a tie with Texas A&M in the Big 12 Conference standings. Missouri next plays Sunday when it hosts Texas at Walton Stadium begining at 1pm.
