
Urban and Spates Fall At NCAA Wrestling Championships

St. Louis, Mo. - The University of Missouri wrestling team's season came to a close Friday afternoon, as Jeff Urban (149) and Jeremy Spates (141) were eliminated from competition. Urban ended the season, and his MU career, at 32-14, while Spates, a true freshman, ended at 32-13.
Spates lost his first wrestleback match on Friday, 8-0 to Jonathon Archuleta of California State Bakersfield. Spates won his first match yesterday, but then dropped a 7-4 decision in the second match Thursday.
Urban, who won two matches in the wrestleback round yesterday after dropping his first match, was eliminated by Oklahoma's Jared Frayer, 9-1, in Friday's wrestleback action.
The NCAA Championships co-hosted by the University of Missouri and the St. Louis Sports Commission, continue through the NCAA Championship round on Staurday night at Kiel Center in St. Louis.
