Mizzou Made Mental Health operates within the University of Missouri Athletic Department’s mission to graduate Mizzou Made leaders as we win championships and cultivate community while maintaining the department-wide vision to be a modern model for excellence in intercollegiate athletics.
The Mizzou Made Mental Health team is dedicated to enhancing the student-athlete experience through holistic, individualized care and evidence-based practice that maintains confidentiality while encouraging appropriate collaborative support.

SERVICES WE PROVIDE:
Individual Sessions
Mizzou student-athletes can meet one-on-one with a licensed mental health professional to discuss personal concerns or areas of improvement in life. Mental health therapists can help student-athletes develop appropriate coping and problem-solving skills. Issues may include but are not limited to: Adjustment to College, Anxiety, Depression, Culture & Identity, Relationships, Substance Use Concerns, Eating Concerns, Anger Management, etc. Any information shared in session is confidential unless a release of information is signed by the student-athlete.
Mental Health Workshops/Presentations
The Mizzou Made Mental Health Team can provide specific topic workshops and presentations to student-athletes, teams, and coaches.
Substance Use Psychoeducation
Mizzou Athletics is committed to supporting the student-athlete experience, in all areas whatever they may be. Mizzou Made Mental Health offers substance use counseling to any student-athlete, in accordance with NCAA and SEC policies and practices. The program focuses on harm reduction and using the athlete’s own drive and motivation to find solutions to any and all challenges.
Mental Performance Referrals
Mental performance is a discipline that involves the use of psychological training techniques to help athletes develop skills to optimize performance. Mental skills can include improvement in areas such as performance anxiety, focus/concentration, confidence in one’s abilities, and communication. If student-athletes are in need of Mental Performance related services, please contact Cody Hendrickson.

Crisis support for urgent concerns is available by phone 24/7 by calling the MU Counseling Center at 573-882-6601.
INTEGRATED HEALTHCARE TEAM:
The Integrated Healthcare Team is an in-house multidisciplinary team composed of Mizzou Made Mental Health, Sports Medicine, Dieticians, and Psychiatry. The goal of this collaborative team is to coordinate individualized and expert care for student-athletes.
