Tiger Women's Golf Finishes 9th at Mason Rudolph Championship

Franklin, Tenn. - The University of Missouri women's golf team concluded its final day of competition at the Mason Rudolph Championships on Tuesday. The Tigers moved up one spot from Monday's finish shooting a round of 305 placing 9th in the 14-team field. The Tiger's faced a strong breeze and a strong field of players all day on at the par-72 Legends Club of Tennessee. Coach Stephanie Cooper was proud of the concentration and focus her young squad showed

"Our kids stepped up and made some good shots in some rather tough conditions today," Cooper said. "We were consistent and held off a good Northwestern team which builds our confidence as we continue through the fall."

Freshman Kelli Strubinger continued her outstanding play to finish the tournament in 12th place with a final round of 74 and a three-round total of 225. Strubinger was able to hit 14 of 14 fairways and 13 greens in regulation as she continued to be a consistent leader for Mizzou.

Senior Elin Ohlson made a roaring comeback in the final round of the tournament as she shot an early-season best 71 and finished the tourney with a total of 228, finishing in 19th place. Ohlsson shot rounds of 78 and 79 yesterday and was in 44th position heading into today's final round.

After posting a great score of 74 in her second round on Monday, sophomore Maria Ohlsson slipped just a bit in the final round with a score of 81 and a total of 238, good for 52nd place.

Sophomore Mindy Bullard finished the tournament in 69th place (83-80-82-245) while freshman Stephanie Turner had her best round of the tourney (79) on Tuesday finishing in 72nd place.
