The Mizzou men got off to a slow start, but finished strong against Southwest Missouri State on Friday. The Tigers managed to break three pool records despite loss. Junior Matt Ferrarelli had a big day for Missouri, winning both the 200 individual medley and the 200 backstroke in pool-record breaking times. Ferrarelli won the 200 IM in a time of 1:51.77. The meet came down to near misses for the Tigers. Missouri was out-touched by Southwest Missouri State in three events.
"We had sluggish start today," said Head Coach Brian Hoffer. "We did a great job coming back, but we just couldn't pull it out. We broke three pool records, and that is great. I think we lost to a very good SMS team today."
