Missouri Falls to No. 17 Ranked Colorado

Boulder, Colo.-The Mizzou soccer team falls to 5-4 taking its first Big 12 Conference loss at the hands of Colorado. The Buffs defeated the Tigers 3-2 to give Missouri a 0-1 league record.

The Tigers started the game confidently scoring two goals during the first half of play. Junior Kristen Heil scored twice for Missouri to post her first multi-goal game of the season. She now leads the team in scoring with 12 points.

Senior Adriene Davis cracked a milestone on her way to helping Heil score the Tigers' first goal. Dishing an assist through the Colorado defensive line where Heil throttled the net, Davis made her 29th career assist to tie the Missouri all-time record held by Nikki Thole.

Junior Melissa Peabody helped Heil score Missouri's second goal. She lofted a ball over the Buffalo defense where Heil utilized her speed to overpower her mark and score.

The Tigers' euphoria was short lived however as Colorado came from behind for the 3-2 victory. Katie Griffin, Ashlie Mihalcin and Jen Thais each scored for the Buffaloes.

Missouri continues Big 12 play on Sunday when the Tigers face Nebraska in Lincoln, Neb., at 1:00 p.m.
