Palm Harbor, Fla. - The University o f Missouri women's golf squad is in third place following their team total of 303 on Monday in the second round of the Adidas Fall Invitational. The Tigers are only seven strokes out of the lead, which is held by the Baylor Bears, heading into the final round with a two-day total of 597.
Four Tigers remain in the hunt for top five finishes at the tourney, which is being played at the par-72, 5,844-yard Lansbrook Golf Course in Palm Harbor, Fla. After shooting an even-par 72 in the opening round, sophomore Kelli Strubinger stumbled a bit, shooting a 77 in day two, but remains in contention in a tie for ninth place at 149. Junior Mindy Bullard has been extremely consistent in the first two days firing a 74 and a 75 in the opening two rounds and is also in a tie for ninth at 149.
Sophomore Denise Knaebel bounced back from an opening-round 77 with a second-round 74, putting her in a tie for 16th along with freshman Stephanie Wavro, who shot a 77 on day two for a two-round total of 149. Junior Maria Ohlsson is also in the top 25 heading into the final day in 24th (74-79=153) and Stephanie Turner is in 53rd with a total of 161.
