San Juan, PR - Sophomore Denise Knaebel saved her best for last on Tuesday. The talented Moberly, Mo., native shot a one-over-par 73 in the final round of the Lady Puerto Rico Classic finishing in 20th place at the event with a total of 224.
"I thought we had some flashes of pretty good golf this week, but we have to be more consistent with our putting," Head coach Stephanie Cooper said. "This was our first time out this spring and I think we can definitely build on this performance against some of the top teams in the country if we continue to strike the ball with authority and confidence."
The Tigers ended up in 12th place at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic at the Par 72, 6,016-yard Dorado Del Mar Golf Course in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Mizzou registered its best team round of the tournament with 308 on the day. Juniors Maria Ohlsson and Mindy Bullard both fired individual tournament-best rounds of 77 on the final day and finished in 38th and 67th respectively.
