WACO, Texas- - The Mizzou women's golf team carded an opening round 308 at the Big 12 Conference Championships at Ridgewood Country Club in Waco, Texas on Monday and sits in 10th place.

Sophomore Madde Augustsson led the way for the Tigers in round one, with a 78. She matched her 39 on the front nine with the same score on the back nine. Augustsson sits in a tie for 22nd after the first round.

Freshman Julia Potter and senior Stephanie Wavro are among a group tied for 30th place after carding rounds of 79 on Monday. Potter birded the third hole to get to one-under par before making two bogies and a double bogie to finish with a 39 on the opening nine holes. She then turned in a 40 on the back nine. Wavro followed a front nine 40 with a 39 on the second nine, which included a pair of birdies.

Sophomore Ellen Hoeper birdied the first hole on her way to a front side 39. She made three birdies on the back nine, but had a bogie, a triple bogie and a quadruple bogie also to card a 41 on the back nine for a first round total of 80, which puts her in a tie for 37th spot.

Freshman Michelle Morgan shot an 81 (39-42) on the first day and is tied for 41st place.

Texas A&M leads the tournament after shooting a 300 in round one, eight shots better than Oklahoma State, Baylor and Colorado, who are tied for second. Missouri is one shot behind ninth place Oklahoma and just four shot out of seventh place.

The second round will be played on Tuesday with the final round scheduled for Wednesday. Live scoring is available through GolfStat at mutigers.com.
