Mizzou Completes Day One of NCAA Regional in 15th Place

ANN ARBOR, Mich.- - The Mizzou women's golf team is in 15th place after round one of the NCAA Central Regional in Ann Arbor, Mich. The Tigers, competing in their fifth-straight NCAA Regional, turned in a round of 310 on Thursday.

Senior Stephanie Wavro had the best round of the day for the Tigers, carding a four-over par 75, shooting two-over par on both the front and back nines. Wavro was two-over par on her round before making bogeys on two of her final three holes.

Junior Madde Augustsson was one shot behind Wavro, carding a 76 in round one, while sophomore Ellen Hoeper turned in a round of 79. Sophomore Chelsea Schriewer and freshman Julia Potter each had rounds of 80 on Thursday.

Southern California holds a six-shot lead after the first round, carding a one-under total of 283. Indiana and TCU are tied for second with opening rounds of 289.

Missouri is one shot ahead of host-school Michigan and two-shots ahead of fellow Big 12 team, Baylor. The Tigers are one shot behind UNC-Wilmington and two behind Northwestern for 13th spot.

The second round of the NCAA Central Regional will be played on Friday with the final round scheduled for Saturday.
