LAS VEGAS, Nev. - - Four Mizzou golfers finished the Las Vegas Collegiate with their lowest 54-hole scores of the fall, however, the Tigers finished in 14th place in the event, their final tournament of the fall season. MU shot a 291 on Wednesday and ended the tournament with a three-day total of 872, its best score of the fall.
Missouri senior Chelsea Schriewer and junior Michelle Morgan each shot scores one-under-par 71 in Wednesday's final round and both finished with their best three-round totals of the season. Morgan led the Tigers by recording a 35th place finish with her three-day total of 217. Schriewer tied for 51st spot with a final 54-hole score of 220.
After shooting two rounds of even-par 72 on the first two days of play, junior Julia Potter carded a 74 on Wednesday and finished in a tie for 40th place with her three-round total of 217.
Freshman Hannah Lovelock and sophomore Lindsey Haupt each recorded rounds of 75 on Wednesday and both also recorded their lowest tournament totals of the fall. Lovelock finished the tournament tied for 51st place with a 220 score, while Haupt placed in a tie for 57th spot with a 221 total.
The Las Vegas Collegiate concludes the fall portion of Missouri's 2008-09 schedule. The Tigers finished in the top-five in three of their five tournaments, taking second at the Johnie Imes Invitational, fourth at the Mary Fossum Invitational and fifth at the Price's Give `em Five. They also claimed a sixth-place finish at the McHaney/Morehead Invitational.
Mizzou will open the spring season with the Central District Invitational, Feb. 16-17 in Parrish, Fla.
