BOULDER CREEK, Nev. - Senior Julia Potter tied her career best by turning in a round of 66 on Wednesday in the final round of the UNLV Invitational. Potter opened on the back nine and birdied four of her first six holes. She added three more birdies on her second nine. Potter finished in a tie for 10th place with a 54-hole score of 220 (71-83-66).
The round of 66 ties the school record. Potter shot a 66 at the 2007 Johnie Imes Invitational and former Tiger Maria Ohlsson carded a 66 at the 2004 Lady Northern.
After a rough second round dropped the Mizzou women's golf team into 11th place at the UNLV Invitational, the Tigers rallied to card a final round 293 on Wednesday to finish in fifth place with a three-round total of 895 (290-312-293).
Junior Lindsey Haupt finished in a tie for 25th place with a final total of 225. She carded Mizzou's second best round of the final day with a 74. Sophomore Hannah Lovelock tied for 42nd spot with a 228 score, followed by junior Nicola Race in a tie for 58th with a 231 total and senior Michelle Morgan had a 234 total for the three rounds to tie for 67th place.
UNLV won the title with a three-day total of 866 (281-286-299), with Therese Koelbaek of UNLV taking home the individual medalist with a final total of 210 (68-71-71).
Next up for Missouri is the Mountain View Classic in Tucson, Ariz. on March 26-27.
