The Mizzou Women's Golf program improved by 16 shots over its second round total, firing a final-round 305 to conclude play at the 2011 Central District Invitational.

 

The Central District Invitational is hosted in Parrish, Fla., at the River Wilderness Golf Club. The challenging par-72 course spans 6,099 yards. The 54-hole event began Monday afternoon with two rounds before concluding on Tuesday afternoon.

 

Hannah Lovelock led Missouri shooting a 6-over-par 78 to finish tied for 45^th. Playing her first event of the season, Lovelock was steady each round for the Tigers and should continue improving as she works back into playing form after off-season surgery. Nicola Race and Kelly Osborne also competed well on Tuesday, shooting 2-over-par 74s to move up the final standings. Race finished second among Tiger competitors and tied for 55^th overall.

 

Iowa State won the 54-hole event shooting a final-round 283. The Cyclones won by nine shots over Louisiana State. LSU did boast the individual medalist, Austin Ernst, who shot rounds of 72-69-72--213 to win by three strokes over TCU's Brooke Beeler.

 

Missouri returns to action March 6 at the Florida Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.
