An improved effort by Hannah Lovelock wasn't enough to push the Missouri Women's Golf program up the team standings at the 2011 SunTrust Gator Women's Golf Invitational. The Tigers slipped into 17^th despite another solid showing by the junior.

 

The 54-hole SunTrust Gator Women's Golf Invitational was played at the par-70/6,074-yard Mark Bostik Golf Course at the University of Florida in Gainesville.

 

Lovelock, a native of Surrey, England, shot a final round 76 to move into a tie for 30^th. She opened the day in 36^{th place}, but battled the difficult course to lead Missouri for the second consecutive event. Nicola Race was Missouri's second finisher, tying for 65^th.

The host Gators (280-292-293--865) won the event by 18 shots over Florida State. Florida State did boast the tournament medalist, Hannah Thomson, who fired a final-round 69 to win by two shots over Ohio State's Vicky Vilanueva.

 

Missouri returns to action March 25-26 at the Mountain View Classic in Tuscon, Ariz.
