Lorton, Va. - Ryan Zech (-1) fired a 4-under-par 67 to win his second tournament of the fall and lift Mizzou Golf to a three-shot win at the Patriot Intercollegiate on Monday afternoon in Lorton, Va.

The 2014 Patriot Intercollegiate, hosted by George Mason, was a 17-team event played on the par-71 Laurel Hill Golf Club.

The Tigers earned a three-shot win over Marshall and recorded their second tournament title in three tries early this fall. Head Coach Mark Leroux's club also won the Turning Stone Intercollegiate in Verona, N.Y. (Aug. 31-Sept. 1).

Zech won the individual title in dramatic fashion. The Kearney, Mo., native birdied the par-5 18th to earn the win on Monday. He finished one shot better than Drexel's Christopher Crawford (-3) and Marshall's Clark Robinson (-3). Robinson had the low round of the day, shooting a 5-under-par 66, but both Crawford and Robinson recorded par on the 18th in earlier parings, setting up the winning putt for Zech.

Euan Walker (+1) finished ninth overall. The sophomore was 2-over-par on Monday, but did record his fourth career Top 10 showing.

Wilson Sundvold (+3) and Jacob Fair (+3) each tied for 15th and Sundvold's 3-under-par 68 helped him race up the leaderboard. Sundvold was 3-under-par on the front nine today and only a double bogey on the 15th hole kept him from a career-low 66. The 68 today by Sundvold tied a career low for the junior and was his best final-round score of his collegiate career.

Freshman Luigi Botta (+4) capped the scoring for Missouri, shooting a 73 to finish tied for 20th. Botta already has two career Top 20 finishes.

Competing as an individual was freshman Hayden Buckley (+8). The Mississippi native shot rounds of 73-76-72 to finish just two shots outside of the Top 25.

Missouri Golf returns to action on Oct. 10 at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate. The three-day event is played in Jonesborough, Tenn.
