Columbia, Mo. - Head coach Kim Anderson returns to the Hearnes Center as the Mizzou men's basketball team launches its 2014-15 campaign on Wednesday. The Tigers welcome William Jewell College in an exhibition matchup, with tip-off set for 7 p.m.
Doors to the event open at 5:30 p.m. and admission and parking is free for all fans. ADA parking is available on the east side of the Hearnes Center, located within lot M. Seating sections inside the arena will be reserved for Mizzou men's basketball season ticket holders and students until 10 minutes prior to tipoff when they will be released to the general public.
Wednesday's contest will be televised on SEC Network + and can be found on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN App. Mizzou's own Gary Link and Ben Arnet will be on the call.
The Tigers enter 2014 seeking their seventh consecutive 20-win season. Mizzou returns two starters in Jonathan Williams III and Ryan Rosburg and welcomes back key contributors Wes Clark and Keanau Post. Post, a 6-foot-11 senior forward, highlighted the annual Black and Gold scrimmage with 14 points and five rebounds. The Tigers scored 42 of their combined 70 points in the paint.
Anderson, a former Mizzou post player himself, will be back on the sidelines at the Hearnes Center. He won 77 games while playing under Tiger legend Norm Stewart from 1973-77. After spending more than a decade at the helm of Central Missouri and capturing last year's Division II National Championship, Anderson returns to his alma-mater to coach in familiar territory.
Following Wednesday's contest, the Tigers will wrap up exhibition play at Mizzou Arena Nov. 8 against UMSL and begin the regular season Nov. 14 against UMKC.
