Coach Smith: A Tiger Style Zoom Update

At the beginning of March, Mizzou Wrestling head coach Brian Smith and his team were wrapping up a ninth consecutive conference title at the MAC Championships in DeKalb, Ill. During that weekend, talk of COVID-19 in our nation began to take hold in common conversation, but the team was ready to head to Minneapolis with nine NCAA qualifiers for the annual NCAA Championships. But a few days prior to their departure, the mass cancellations from COVID-19 denied the team the chance to finish their season, ending the 2019-20 campaign prematurely. While everyone involved recognized that it was the right decision, it was still a tough way for the seniors to end their careers and for the Tigers to end their season.
