Mizzou Women’s Golf Closes Out The Ally Tournament

Yoemans, Beijer lead the squad at T-38
COLUMBIA, Mo – Mizzou Women's Golf rounded out its second tournament of the fall season, The Ally, on Wednesday afternoon in Mississippi. The Tigers were led by senior Noelle Beijer (Assendelft, The Netherlands) and sophomore Sophia Yoemans (Red Wing, Minn.), who both finished T-38 overall.
Mizzou placed 14th at the tournament with a 51-over par 915 (299-307-309). The Ally, which included every Southeastern Conference team along with Southern Mississippi, featured a loaded field.
Beijer set a strong pace on day one after recording a season-low 70, securing her 10th career round under-par. Her performance was anchored by five birdies in both the opening round and third round, finishing with a total of 11 for the week. Placing T-38 with a 6-over par 222, she continued her streak of finishing in the Top-40 in all nine events during her Mizzou career.
In her ninth career start, Yoemans' week was highlighted by an even-par 72 on Tuesday, tallying her ninth career round of par or better. She bookended the tournament with a 2-over 74 and a 4-over 76.
Freshman Emily Staples (Orlando, Fla.) made her Mizzou debut, finishing T-62 with a 15-over par 231 (75-78-78). She sunk her first career eagle in the opening round and went 1-under over the final seven holes of round two.
Columbia native junior Julia Bower and senior Jess Yuen (Bolingbrook, Ill.) both finished T-72 with a 28-over par 244. Yuen fired a 77 on Tuesday, powered by four birdies.
Mizzou will compete next Nov. 6-8 in its final tournament of the fall season, the Liz Murphy Fall Collegiate Classic, in Athens, Georgia.
