Mizzou Soccer Falls to No.14 BYU

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Soccer (5-4-2) was tested early and often in a defeat at the hands of No. 14 BYU. While the Tigers were able to fire off 14 shots in the contest, they were not able to get on the board. Only two of the shots were on goal.

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Soccer (5-4-2) was tested early and often in a defeat at the hands of No. 14 BYU. While the Tigers were able to fire off 14 shots in the contest, they were not able to get on the board. Only two of the shots were on goal.

BYU jumped out to an early lead in the 19th minute when Bella Folino got loose in the box and put one away in the bottom-left corner.

At the half, Mizzou trailed by a single goal, but BYU was able to extend the lead early in the second half.

TURNING POINT

BYU was able to put the game away with two quick goals, both scored by Mikayla Colohan in the 51st and 53rd minutes. BYU owned the majority of the possession in the game and they were able to fire off 29 shots.

Mizzou threatened with a few chances, mostly generated by Julissa Cisneros and Jadyn Easley. Each of the forwards fired off a few shots. Only Julissa Cisneros and Grace Pettet were able to put a shot on goal. Both shots were turned aside by the BYU keeper.

TOP TIGERS

Jadyn Easley was able to push the envelope for the Mizzou attach. The senior created a number of chances for the Tigers. Easley played for 62 minutes in the contest, a new season-high.

Julissa Cisneros put up five shots in the game, one of which was on goal.

NOTES

Mizzou falls at home for the first time this season.
