Swimming and Diving Adds Five Standouts to 2025 Recruiting Class

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri swimming and diving received commitments from five standout student-athletes for the 2025-26 academic year. The five swimmers include three of the top prep performers from the state of Minnesota and a total of three top 250 recruits, according to Swimcloud's recruiting rankings.
Mizzou Head Coach Andrew Grevers announced the addition of Sebastian Gonzalez Barboza (IM/Free), who will join the Tigers as the top recruit out of Quebec, and Minnesota native Drew Ploof (Fly) to the men's 2025 recruiting class. For the Mizzou women, Annabelle Wentzel (Fly) and Libby Bakker (Back/Free) are rated as two of the top four swimmers in their home state, while Illinois native Zuza Krasnicki (Free) will make the trek to Columbia following a standout prep career of her own.
Below are signee profiles for Mizzou's 2025 recruiting class.
Libby Bakker
Back/Free | Maple Grove, Minn. (Maple Grove HS)
Bakker is an All-American in the 100 back and a Scholastic All-American for Maple Grove High School. A captain for the Crimson, she is a five-time section champion. Competing for the Aquajets Swim Team, she qualified for Winter and Summer Nationals.
Bakker on choosing Mizzou: "I chose Mizzou because of the dynamic atmosphere of the campus, the incredibly supportive coaching staff, and the tight knit team culture! I believe that Mizzou is the place I belong to best set me up for success both in college and in my future."
Sebastian Gonzalez Barboza
IM/Free | Mont-Royal, Quebec, Canada (Mount Royal HS)
Barboza brings his long list of accomplishments with Club Aquatique Montréal to the Tigers. Barboza was named the Best Junior Swimmer at Eastern Canadian Championships in 2022 along with being a three-time national champion with his club. A member of Team Quebec, he advanced to finals in the 400 individual medley at the 2024 Canadian Olympic Trials.

Zuza Krasnicki
Free | Schaumburg, Ill. (Schaumburg HS)
Krasnicki has excelled in the pool for Schaumburg High School in Illinois. The All-American has set school and pool records in the 50 free, 100 free, 400 free, 200 free relay and 400 free relay. A Junior National and state qualifier, Krasnicki has earned all-state, all-sectional and all-conference honors.
Krasnicki on choosing Mizzou: "I chose Mizzou because it felt like a home away from home and I immediately realized that I belonged here."
Drew Ploof
Fly | Eden Prairie, Minn. (Eden Prairie HS)
Ploof comes to the Tigers after leading Eden Prairie High School to 2023 MSHSL Championship and Lake Conference Championship victories. The Minnesota native is four-time Scholastic All-American and won the 100-medley relay at the 2023 Speedo Summer Junior Championship, setting a meet and national age group record. Ploof is also an 18-time state record holder.

Annabelle Wentzel
Fly/Free | Hamel, Minn. (Minnetonka HS)
Wentzel is an individual and state champion helped lead the Skippers to Lake Conference Championship and Section 2AA Championship victories. The Minnesota Rookie of the Year was named Most Valuable Player and holds the team record in the 100 fly. Wentzel is a four-time Scholastic All-American coming from the Aquajets Swim Team.
Wentzel on choosing Mizzou: "I chose Mizzou because of the welcoming community and atmosphere that made it feel like home instantly."

Following a two-week hiatus, the Tigers will compete in the Georgia Invitational, November 20-22, in Athens, Georgia.
