
Volleyball Breaks Out Brooms in SEC Home Sweep

Mizzou volleyball (11-7, 3-4 SEC) swept Ole Miss (9-9, 1-6 SEC) to start the SEC home stand (25-19, 25-19, 25-22) on Friday, Oct. 17 at Hearnes Center.
The Tigers outhit the Rebels .288 to .195, as they secured their second-straight win and improve to 3-4 in conference play.
KEY PLAYERS
- Senior Caylen Alexander recorded 15 kills with a .324 hitting percentage.
- Freshman Paige Felder tallied five kills, her best since Chicago State on 9/19/2025.
- Redshirt junior Marina Crownover was two digs shy of a double double as she posted 33 assists and eight digs.
- Freshman Zoey Matias added 14 digs – her second-straight game with 14 or more digs – and two aces in the victory.
FIRST SET (25-19, Mizzou leads 1-0)
Starting the first set, the two teams kept the score tight with a few attack errors coming from both sides. However, a service error from Ole Miss gave Mizzou the spark they needed, allowing them a 3-0 run before forcing the Rebels to call a timeout – 10-6.
Following the timeout, points were traded between the two teams, featuring a dominant cross-court kill from senior Caylen Alexander and a reversed call in favor of the Black and Gold, bringing the Tigers to a 17-12 lead.
A kill from redshirt senior Tyrah Ariail pushed MUs lead to 20-14, which prompted Ole Miss to call their second time out of the first set. Mizzou continued strong, allowing them to take the first set 25-19.
SECOND SET (25-19, Mizzou leads 2-0)
Three kills from Alexander and a pair from Ariail started the second set off strong for the Tigers, propelling them to a 7-3 lead. Ole Miss responded by capitalizing on three attack errors and a service error from MU, which brought the score to an even 13-13.
The Rebels secured their first lead of the game from a pair of aces and extended that to a three-point advantage – 16-3. However, Mizzou's senior Regan Haith answered back with two-straight kills during the 6-1 run to make it 19-17 in favor of the Tigers.
MU continued to feed from the energy and pulled away from the Rebels, matching the last set, 25-19, and giving themselves a 2-0 lead.
THIRD SET (25-22, Mizzou wins 3-0)
In the third, both Mizzou and Ole Miss battled for the lead, tying the set with every other point. The Tigers eventually pulled away with two-straight points, bringing the score to 19-17, and forcing a timeout for Ole Miss.
The Rebels continued to keep the score tight; however, a kill from freshman Paige Felder continued to push MU ahead.
Mizzou rallied and was able to break the tight score in the latter part of the set and close out the game with a 25-22 win.
GAME NOTES
- Mizzou increases all-time record against Ole Miss to 20-11. The last time they swept the Rebels was October 12th, 2018.
- Dawn Sullivan is now 51-29 as the Tigers head coach, 160-67 overall and 2-1 against Ole Miss while being with MU.
