
Women’s Basketball Secures McDonald’s All-American Nominee Lisa Thompson

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri women's basketball has signed transfer guard Lisa Thompson from Rutgers, head coach Kellie Harper announced on Friday.
A 2023 McDonald's American nominee and earning an invite to the USA Women's U17 World Cup Team Trials, Thompson averaged 4.9 points, 1.3 assists and 1.7 rebounds while leading the Scarlet Knights to the Women's National Invitation Tournament Great Eight last season as a sophomore.
Thompson scored 10 or more points on four occasions including a season-high 13 points twice last year. Defensively, she ranked fourth on the team with 22 steals.
The Joliet, Ill. native started in 20 games during her inaugural collegiate season and averaged 6.7 points and 1.9 rebounds per game.
An Illinois All-State honoree out of Example Academy, Thompson led Example to the 2023 Independent National Championship after spending three seasons at Joliet West High School, where she guided program to three straight conference titles.
Thompson joins Sydney Mains, Shannon Dowell, Jordana Reisma and Saniah Tyler in the Tigers' offseason transfer class.
