
Women's Basketball Adds Pepperdine Transfer Chloe Sotell

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri women's basketball has signed sophomore transfer guard Chloe Sotell from Pepperdine, head coach Kellie Harper announced on Tuesday.
A West Coast Conference All-Freshman team performer, Sotell averaged 11.1 points, 3.1 assists and 2.9 rebounds in her debut season with the Waves. A volume scorer, the sophomore tallied three games with 20 or more points, including a career-best 24-point outing against New Mexico.
The Samford, Conn. native led Pepperdine in overall points scored while converting 31.1 percent of her 3-point attempts. Sotell also finished fourth in the WCC with 2.0 3-point makes per game.
She started 26 of 31 games last season while averaging 29 minutes per game.
A two-time national champion out of Montverde Academy, Sotell's brother Lukas is a junior on the Maryland men's basketball team.
During her senior season, Sotell helped the Eagles go 24-4 and finish third in the final MaxPreps national rankings. On a roster featuring a plethora of future Power-4 players, Sotell was the team's fourth-leading scorer at 6.5 points per game, tied for second on the team with 23 steals and connected on 37.4% (52-139) of her three-point attempts, good for third-best on the team.
Sotell began her career at Stamford High School (Conn.), where she was a Connecticut all-state selection and a First Team All-FCIAC selection as a sophomore. In her final year at Stamford, Sotell led the Black Knights in scoring, assists and steals to help lead the team to the second round of the CIAC Class LL Girls Basketball Championships. Sotell also played club basketball for the Miami Suns, the Empire State Basketball Club and the New York Gauchos AAU program.
Sotell joins Jayla Smith, Lisa Thompson, Sydney Mains, Shannon Dowell, Jordana Reisma and Saniah Tyler in the Tigers' offseason transfer class.
