
Women's Basketball to Face Washington State in WBCA Showcase

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri women's basketball will face Washington State at 2 p.m. on November 23 in the WBCA Showcase at Walt Disney World Resort, the Women's Basketball Coaches Association and Disney jointly announced on Tuesday.
The entirety of the showcase will be held from November 20-23 and features eight teams, Baylor, Central Missouri, Davidson, Iowa, Miami, Missouri, Washington State and West Florida.
"This tournament continues to feature top-tier women's programs and adds to the legacy of major events hosted at ESPN Wide World of Sports at Walt Disney World," Jason Siegel, President & CEO of the Greater Orlando Sports Commission said. "We look forward to welcoming the student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and families to our community for what is sure to be an incredibly positive experience."
In March, Kellie Harper became the fifth head coach in Mizzou program history. In 20 seasons as a Division I head coach, Harper has led her teams to a 393-260 record with nine NCAA Tournament berths. She has piloted her squads to 15 top-three league finishes and four conference tournament championships. Including her playing career at Tennessee, Harper has 11 seasons of SEC experience, In 2022-23, Harper led the Lady Volunteers to the NCAA Sweet 16 for a second consecutive season.
Grace Slaughter enters her junior season to headline the Tigers' new-look roster for the upcoming campaign. The 2024-25 SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, ranked 18th in the SEC with 15.0 points a season ago while also contributing 3.6 rebounds.
The reloaded roster will also feature seven impactful transfer additions, Chloe Sotell (Pepperdine), Jayla Smith (Purdue), Lisa Thompson (Rutgers), Sydney Mains (Florida Atlantic), Shannon Dowell (Illinois State), Jordana Reisma (Cleveland State) and Saniah Tyler (Kentucky).
Washington State compiled a 21-14 record including a 14-6 mark against West Coast Conference Opponents a season ago.
The Cougars are headlined by junior guard Eleonora Villa, a WCC All-Second Team honoree who led the team with 13.6 points per game last year.
The contest will mark the first all-time meeting between the programs.
Tickets for the WBCA Showcase are on sale now exclusively through Ticketmaster by clicking here. Tickets start at only $25 with upgraded seating options available. Group tickets will go on sale at a later date. All tickets will be sold online via Ticketmaster and delivered digitally. Tickets will not be available to purchase onsite at the State Farm Field House box office on game days.
