
Andrew Grevers Adds Two Assistants to Coaching Lineup

Kate McCarville and Mohab Ishak join coaching staff.
COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri swimming and diving head coach Andrew Grevers announced the addition of two assistant coaches to the program. Kate McCarville will serve as assistant coach, and Mohab Ishak will work alongside head diving coach Kyle Bogner as assistant diving coach.
McCarville, a native of Springfield, Missouri, was a member of the University of Tennessee women's swimming and diving team. She earned Second Team All-America honors in the 500 freestyle and helped the Lady Vols to top-10 team finishes at the NCAA Division I Championships, including fourth in the nation in 2024 and fifth in 2025.
Within the Southeastern Conference (SEC), McCarville consistently finaled in the 500 freestyle, 1650 freestyle, 400 individual medley and 200 butterfly, helping Tennessee secure a conference championship in 2022 and runner-up finishes in 2023 and 2024.
McCarville holds three top-10 times in Tennessee program history across distance freestyle events. She qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials in 2021 and 2024.
Academically, McCarville graduated summa cum laude with a double major in therapeutic recreation and psychology, and a minor in leadership studies in the spring of 2025. She earned a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout her collegiate career, was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll and received the Lady Vol Student-Athlete Academic Achiever Award.
McCarville's leadership and service extends beyond the pool. She was a recipient of the University of Tennessee's Torchbearer Award, the highest honor given to undergraduate students. Each year, it recognizes seven to 10 seniors from the entire university's graduating class who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership and dedicated service to others.
As a member of the VOLeaders Academy, she used sport as a platform for social change, including an international service trip to the Philippines where she worked with local schools and disability service organizations. She also served on the leadership team of 1TENN, a student-athlete ministry, and volunteered with numerous community programs such as The League of Angels, where she helped provide adaptive baseball experiences for individuals with disabilities. Along with her service, she has coaching and teaching experience with a variety of ages and populations, focusing on everything from water safety to stroke technique and race strategy.
Ishak, an Egypt native, was a member of Egypt's Olympic diving squad for the 2016 Rio Olympics and 2020 Tokyo Olympics. In Tokyo, Ishak finished 11th in the 3-meter springboard event, Egypt's best finish since the 1948 Olympic Games.
He also competed in the 2014 Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China where he took home a silver medal in the Mixed Team competition with his diving partner Wu Shengping (China).
Ishak comes to Missouri after serving as assistant diving coach at Keiser University.
During his time with the Seahawks, Ishak helped guide the men's team to their sixth NAIA National Championship and the women's team to their fourth straight NAIA National Championship.
He helped mentor NAIA Diver of the Year, Juan Gonzalez to national championship wins in 1-meter and 3-meter diving. Gonzalez also received SUN Diver of the Year honors.
Ishak also assisted AC Taylor to NAIA All-America honors in 1-meter diving.
Academically, Ishak earned his Bachelor of Egyptology from the faculty of Tourism and Hotels Management at Cairo's Helwan University in 2019.

The Tigers will open their season in Carmel, Ind. at the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup October 10-12. Prelims will be at 9 a.m. followed by finals at 5 p.m.
