Track and Field’s Innes Advances to NCAA Championship Final, Leacock Qualifies for Quarterfinals

Innes moves on to the final championship round for the first time in his career.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Missouri track and field's Sam Innes punched his ticket to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship Final after taking eighth at the NCAA West Regional Championships on Wednesday at John McDonnell Field.

Innes locked in his placement for the final round in Eugene, Ore. for the first time in his career, qualifying with an eighth place result of 67.83m (222-6).
Houston transfer Dillon Leacock secured his spot in the 400m hurdles quarterfinals with a dominant performance. His seventh place result of 50.33 signified a personal best and improves his previous No. 3 all-time program record. The quarterfinal round is slated for 7:25 p.m. Friday, where 12 advance to the championship.
