
#72 Mizzou Tops Iowa State Cyclones

Columbia, Mo.-The #72 Missouri tennis team picked up their first Big 12 Conference win defeating the Iowa State Cyclones 6-1. The victory brings the Tigers to 6-2 on the season and 1-1 in Big 12 Conference action.
Missouri jumped out to the early lead picking up the doubles point. For the second consecutive match the Tigers swept all three doubles contests. The Tiger duo of Katka Sevcikova and Carolyn Kramer highlighted pairs play picking up a victory over Cyclones Jill Palen and Caitlin Loprinzi 8-3 bringing their record to 3-1 on the season.
Shining in singles play for the Tigers was junior Hana Kraftova. Returning to the lineup after recuperating from an injury, Kraftova defeated Loprinzi at No. 2 singles with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 victory. Newcomers Lubica Nadasska and Kramer also bolstered the Tiger effort winning their matches in straight sets.
Missouri returns to action Sat., Feb. 26 at 2:00 p.m., taking on Big 12 Conference foe Colorado. The Tigers continue their seven match home stand hosting Louisville and Ohio State the following week. Missouri squares off against Louisville Fri., March 4 and face Ohio State Sun., March 6. Both matches start at 2:00 p.m., in the Green Tennis Center.
