@MizzouSwimDive Notch Season and Personal Bests at Last Chance Meet

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Mizzou men's and women's swimming teams set a number of personal bests and moved up the national rankings at the Mizzou Last Chance Meet this weekend at the Mizzou Aquatic Center. The event served as the Tigers' last opportunity to drop time in hopes of qualifying for the next month's NCAA Championships.
KEY SWIMS
- Sophomore Daniel Hein (Sycamore, Ill.) notched a season-best 46.03 in a time trial, a time that moved him up in the rankings and in a potential position to qualify for next month's NCAA Championships. He entered the meet with a season-best 46.41 before going 46.34 in Saturday morning prelims and 46.07 in finals before the time trial.
- In the men's 100 breast, junior Jordan O'Brien (Naperville, Ill.) dropped his personal best from a 52.96 at last week's SEC Championships to a 52.82 at the Last Chance meet. His new time puts in in contention for an NCAA berth in the event.
- Freshman Lauren Savoy (Highland Village, Texas) swam a personal-best 2:10.19 in a 200 breast time trial, which moved her a few spots in the national rankings.
- Sophomore Nick Alexander (Crestwood, Mo.) notched a 1:41.17 in the 200 back finals, a personal best.
- Freshman Sarah Thompson (Collierville, Tenn.) dropped a personal-best 22.30 50 free in a time trial. The time moved her up to fourth all-time at Mizzou in the event.
UP NEXT
The Mizzou men's and women's swimming teams await NCAA Championships selections. The women's bids will be announced on Wednesday, Feb. 28, while the men's selections will be revealed on Wednesday, March 7.
