
@MizzouTennis Heads South for Big 5 Challenge

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou tennis team continues its fall season this weekend at the four-day Big 5 Challenge at TCU's Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth, Texas. Action gets underway Thursday, Sept. 20 and continues through Sunday, Sept. 23.
The Tigers open play at the Challenge Thursday at 4 p.m. in doubles action, then plays doubles and singles on Friday starting at 11:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday's schedule will be determined later in the week.
Missouri joins host TCU and Arizona, Arizona State, Auburn, Georgia, Kansas, Kansas State, Notre Dame, Texas Tech, Virginia and Virginia Tech at the tournament, which no dual format, but rather individual singles players and doubles pairings will match up with opponents from each program.
Last weekend, Mizzou opened its fall schedule with the three-day Mizzou Invite. Sophomore Taylor Gruber nabbed the Black Flight singles title after a perfect 3-0 record, while junior Mackenzy Middlebrooks and sophomore Ellie Wright teamed up to claim the Black Flight doubles crown with a 3-0 mark. Other individuals who went perfect in singles during the weekend included Middlebrooks (2-0), sophomore Marta Oliveira (2-0) and freshman Lisa Fukutoku (2-0).
