Women's Swimming & Diving Places 18th at NCAA Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Mizzou women's swimming and diving team finished 18th overall with 79 points at the 2021 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in Greensboro, N.C.
Over the course of the Championships, two individual Tigers and two Mizzou relays claimed All-America honors. Senior Sarah Thompson earned first team honors in the 50 free and honorable mention honors in the 100 back, and sophomore Meredith Rees claimed honorable mention honors in the 100 back. Additionally, Mizzou's 200 free relay earned first team accolades with a fourth-place finish to match the program's highest-ever NCAA relay finish, and the 200 medley relay finished 10th overall for honorable mention honors.
KEY PERFORMANCES
During Saturday action, the 400 free relay narrowly missed honorable mention accolades, placing 17th overall. The quartet of Thompson, junior Megan Keil (Derby, Kan.), freshman Sierra Smith (Plymouth, Minn.) and sophomore Amy Feddersen (Ames, Iowa) went 3:15.32 in the timed final.
Rees and sophomore Savana Trueb (Colorado Springs, Colo.) both earned top 25 finishes on final day action as well. Rees placed 22nd in the 200 back after a time of 1:54.52, and Trueb took 25th on platform with 234.9 points.
