Mizzou Track & Field Concludes War Eagle Invitational

Tigers bag two event wins and four second-place finishes
AUBURN, Ala. — Mizzou Track & Field finished competition at the War Eagle Invitation on Saturday evening, as the Tigers captured two event wins, four second-place finishes and set 16 personal bests.
Notable Finishes
In the men's 800m, redshirt sophomore Chris Conrad (O'Fallon, Ill.) captured the lone event win for the Tigers on the day. With a time of 1:49.25, Conrad won the 800m race a second short of his personal best. Conrad currently holds the 13th fastest time in the nation, which he set two weekends ago at the Raleigh Relays.
On the women's side, redshirt junior Karina Liz (Aurora, Ill.) and freshman Kelsey Schweizer (Urbandale, Iowa) finished in third and fourth, respectively in the 800m. Liz, in her first 800m race of the outdoor season finished in a time of 2:06.86, a second short of her outdoor PR. Schweizer had a breakthrough race, beating her previous personal best by over four second in a time of 2:07.09. She now ranks ninth in program history.
Redshirt sophomore Morgan O'Neal (Sylacauga, Ala.) placed second in the 400m hurdles and set a new personal best in the event with a time of 59.28. O'Neal still holds the third fastest mark in program history.
Mizzou swept the top-3 finishes in the women's triple jump, led by sophomore Arianna Fisher (San Jose, Calif.), who leaped 12.84m (42-1.50). Freshmen Euphenie Andre (Dover Plains, N.Y.) and Mara Hausler (Stralsund, Germany) finished in second and third, respectively.
Up Next
The Tigers will be on the road for the Drake Relays, beginning Thursday, April 22 and concluding on Saturday, April 24. Following the Drake Relays, Mizzou will head out to the Kansas Invitational before beginning postseason competition with the SEC Championships.
