
Mizzou Track & Field heads to Iowa for the Cyclone Open

The one-day meet begins Saturday at 12 p.m. CT
COLUMBIA, Mo. — Mizzou Track and Field kicks off the 2022 spring season as the Tigers are set to travel to Ames, Iowa for the Cyclone Open on Saturday, January 22. Competition at Lied Recreation Athletic Center is set to begin at 12:00 p.m. with field events and continue throughout the afternoon. The open will not be streamed on any network or platform, however live results will be available through Wayzata Timing.
The Cyclone Open is set to begin at 12:00 p.m. CT with the men's weight throw. The women's weight throw will follow, along with shot put, pole vault, long jump, triple jump and high jump. At 1:00 p.m. CT, track events will kick off with the 1000m races. Mizzou will close out the day with the 4x400m races.
Mizzou returns to Ames after taking home five event wins in last year's Cyclone Open against Iowa State and Drake University. Redshirt senior Jayson Ashford (Fairview Heights, Ill.) won the men's 60m dash with a time of 7.10. Sophomore McKenna Revord (Hinsdale, Ill.) took home the women's mile with a time, and Mizzou indoor personal best, of 5:22.01.
Junior Jonathan Schmidt (Dresden, Germany) rounded out the individual winners for the Tigers on Saturday, taking the crown in the men's mile at 4:21.98, while the Mizzou women won the 4x400m with a 3:58.14 time.
Following the Cyclone Open, the Tigers will travel to Fayetteville for the Arkansas Invitational January 28-29.
