
Women’s Golf Wraps Up Action at Texas State

San Marcos, Texas – The Missouri women's golf team improved its score in each round during the Jim West Challenge, finishing with a 296-stroke total during the final round in Monday's action.
Senior Olivia Sowers led the Tigers during round three, carding a season-best tally of 72. The senior tallied two birdies on the day to go with an eagle three on the par-5 fifth hole as her total of 72 is one stroke better than her previous season best of 73, set last week at Mississippi State.
Graduate Sky Sload and senior Sophia Yoemans weren't far behind their teammate as the duo each registered a total of 74 strokes during Monday's action. Yoemans led MU overall with a final tally of 225, while Sload was second during the 54 holes of action with a 228.
Freshman Melanie Walker (76) and junior Emily Staples (78) rounded out the action for Mizzou.
Overall, the Tigers placed 15th overall with a team score of 904 – improving their score in each round from 308 during the first to 300 in the second and 296 on the final day.
The Tigers return to action later this week, opening the Battle of the Beach in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico on Friday.
