The Tigers host five of six competitions in 2026 at the home of Mizzou men’s and women’s basketball.
Mizzou gymnastics has a new home.
For the first time in program history, the Tigers' primary home site will be Mizzou Arena for five of the six regular-season home competitions for the 2025-26 campaign.
The change comes following Mizzou's historic 2024-25 season, when head coach Shannon Welker's program finished third at the NCAA Championship Final, the best postseason finish of any women's athletics team in school history. The move couples one of the nation's best gymnastics programs with an equally high-level environment and an elevated fan experience, allowing the Tigers to reach new heights for the much-anticipated 2025-26 season.
"This move to Mizzou Arena represents a significant step for Coach Welker's program and the incredible momentum they have established," Director of Athletics Laird Veatch said. "Coming off the best season in program history, our student-athletes and fans deserve a premier environment that matches the program's championship standards. Mizzou Arena will elevate the student-athlete experience, enhance the fan atmosphere and position Mizzou gymnastics for even greater success in the years ahead."
"Mizzou Arena gives our program a stage that matches our ambition as an incredible environment for our student-athletes and a first-class experience for our fans," Welker said. "This move reflects where our program is and where we're continuing to go. Mizzou Arena brings a noise and energy that changes meets. We're grateful to our administration, Director of Athletics Laird Veatch and our campus partners for believing in this vision, and we can't wait to fill it with Black & Gold like we've seen our basketball programs do. Together, we're going to make it one of the toughest places to compete in college gymnastics."
Mizzou welcomes a loaded slate of opponents for its home meets, including 2025 national champion Oklahoma (January 16), 2024 national champion LSU (January 30) and 2022 and 2023 Southeastern Conference Champion Florida (February 6). MU also hosts Iowa State (January 4), Illinois, Air Force and Ball State for the Mizzou Quad (February 20) and Arkansas (March 1). The home finale against the Razorbacks takes place at Hearnes Center for the Tigers' senior day competition.
Mizzou gymnastics has called Hearnes Center home since the program's inaugural season in 1980, with the Tigers also hosting select meets at Mizzou Arena, most recently the team's Beauty and the Beast meet to open the 2024-25 campaign when it shared the floor with Mizzou wrestling.
Season tickets for the 2025-26 Mizzou gymnastics season start at just $50. For competitions at Mizzou Arena, season tickets in designated reserved sections are available for $125, while fans can also purchase premium floor seating season tickets for $400. The premium area features exclusive food and beverage options, providing a one-of-a-kind experience close to the action. The season ticket package also includes the March 1 meet against Arkansas at Hearnes Center, with all seating for that competition being general admission.
At Mizzou Arena, a designated general admission student section will be located on the east side of the lower bowl alongside the floor exercise mat, creating an energetic environment surrounding the competition floor.
Mizzou Arena opened in 2004 and serves as the home for Mizzou men's and women's basketball. The venue has proven to be one of the most elite home-court advantages in the country over the years, with both programs earning a win over a No. 1-ranked team in Columbia in the past four seasons.
MU returns 13 members from the 2024-25 squad, including four Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association All-Americans, that produced the best finish in program history, taking third in the NCAA Championship Final.
Ahead of the 2025-26 campaign, Welker's 13th season leading the program, Mizzou welcomes a trio of transfers and a freshman class of four, marking the third straight year the Tigers have ranked in the top 20 of College Gym News' recruiting class rankings.
