Wrestling Opens Season With Three Wins in the Missouri Duals

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou wrestling swept all three of its opponents to open the 2025-26 season as part of the Missouri Duels in Hearnes Center.

Mizzou opened the day, shutting out Drury 51-0. The Tigers followed up their first win with a dominant performance over Maryville, 41-3, and capped the day with another shutout, 46-0 over Central Methodist.

MISSOURI VS. DRURY, 51-0
Mizzou scored six victories by fall in the opening duel of the day. Kade Moore, Nate Pulliam, J Conway, Max Mayfield, Aeoden Sinclair, and Jarrett Stoner all registered pins for the Tigers while Evan Bates added a tech fall win in the second period of his bout.

Adding to the Tigers' shutout triumph was Luqman Masud, who claimed a major decision victory to open the day, along with Zeke Seltzer and Kolten Oborny, adding decision wins.

MISSOURI VS. MARYVILLE, 41-3
In the second leg of three, Missouri's lone fall came via Sinclair's first-period pin. Four other Tiger wrestlers claimed technical fall wins as Josh Edmond, Moore, Mayfield, and Bates put five team points on the board.

Other bonus point wins belonged to Mack Mauger, Conway, and Stoner, with Seltzer adding to the scoring with a decision win.

MISSOURI VS. CENTRAL METHODIST, 46-0
The Tigers' final matchup of the day against Central Methodist led to four victories by Fall. Mauger, Edmond, Mylin, and Logan Cole. Bates' match led to a victory by Tech Fall.

In addition to the Tigers' tremendous victory, Seltzer and Conway finished their day with major decision victories. Boogie Harris, Mayfield, and Stoner all had victories by decision.

MATCH NOTES

The Tigers met Drury for the first time in program history. Mizzou is now 1-0 against the Panthers.
Mizzou and Maryville met on the mats for the first time, and the Tigers started 1-0 all-time.
Five Tigers made their first career appearances inside the Hearnes Center, including Masud (125), Harris (133), Mayfield (165), Sinclair (184) and Bates (197). The five wrestlers combined to go 10-0 on the day.
The first annual Missouri Duals opens the season for Mizzou. This marks the first time the Mizzou season did not start with the Black and Gold Scrimmage since 2010-11. That season, the Tigers opened with a dual at Illinois.

FOLLOW THE TIGERS
Mizzou stays home to host the Tiger Style Invite on Sunday, November 9, inside the Hearnes Center. The event comes home to Columbia after the first three iterations of the invite took place at Staley High School in Kansas City, Missouri. Action is set to begin at 10 a.m.
