
George Records Top-10 Javelin Throw in Mizzou Track & Field History on Day One of Yellow Jacket Invitational

Senior Kaesha George’s new personal record makes program history with a new top-10 throw.
ATLANTA – University of Missouri track and field's Kaesha George entered the school's record books in women's javelin to cap off day one of the Yellow Jacket Invitational on Friday at the George C. Griffin Track in Atlanta.
The senior threw a new personal best of 48.74m in the event to claim the No. 10 spot in school history.
The day began with the men's and women's hammer throw, where junior Petra Gombas recorded a throw of 54.05m, placing seventh overall and advancing to the final round on Saturday. Junior Clayton Kamp also solidified a spot in Saturday's final with an eighth-place result after throwing 56.53m.
A total of 14 Tigers earned new personal bests to begin the outdoor season. In the men's and women's 1500m, Ryan Eddington and Abby Brackenbury finished their runs in 3:48.08 and 4:53.25 paces, respectively. Sophomore Colby Revord also finished his 1500m in 3:49.45.
Steven Marks took silver in the men's 100m in 10.52 with Robert Hines finishing closely behind with a bronze finish in just one-hundredth of a second behind. In the same race, Kaden Hamner and Izaiah Hill closed out the men's 100m with eighth and 14th place finishes and new bests of 10.92 and 11.11, respectively.
Ryan Eddington notched a podium finish in the men's 1500m, finishing the race in 3:48.65. Brenden Hertzig concluded the day record of his own in the men's 5000m, earning a time of 14:21.75.
