Wanjiku's time places her third among freshmen nationally and second in the SEC, while Diaz stands third in the conference with her result at the team's most recent meet, the Texas A&M Alumni Muster on May 3.
Joining the pair in the women's rankings are No. 22 and fifth in the SEC Valentina Barrios and No. 38 Val Galligan in javelin, No. 30 Alicia Burnett in the 100m, No. 30 Wanjiku in the 5000m, No. 37 Kristi Perez-Snyman in high jump and No. 37 Ames Burton in discus.

The team is rounded out in the individual rankings by No. 17 Sam Innes in hammer throw, good for fifth in the SEC, No. 28 Drew Rogers in the 10,000m, good for fourth in the SEC, and No. 43 Skylar Coffey and No. 48 Tarique George in discus.
MIZZOU IN THE EVENT RANKINGS
Heading into the postseason, seven of the Tigers' event squads are represented in the top 25 of the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) rankings. The team is headlined by the third-ranked women's javelin squad. Individually, seven of the eight student-athletes who competed in the event this season rank in the top 125, with five in the top 100.
Women's javelin is joined in the top 10 by the sixth-ranked men's discus team, who own two top-50 placements nationally from No. 43 Coffey and No. 48 George. They are followed by the men's shot put team, which stands at No. 13, with three Tigers in the top 125 (No. 69 Coffey, No. 113 Chase Crawford and No. 118 Hayden Dixon). The team is rounded out by No. 16 men's steeplechase, No. 18 women's 5000m, No. 19 women's discus and No. 22 women's hammer throw.
DISCUS SQUADS SHINE
The Missouri discus teams have been enjoying immense success this season, being the only event where the Tigers' men and women are ranked in the top 25 heading into the SEC Outdoor Championships. Mizzou is one of just two SEC programs where the men and women are in the top 20 of the discus polls in the most recent USTFCCCA rankings.
The teams have set top-10 marks in their respective record books throughout the season as well. George's mark of 56.98m (186-11), which he set at the Texas A&M Alumni Muster, placed him 10th in school history, while Burton's 54.72m (179-08) is the sixth best on the women's outdoor list.
LAST TIME AT THE SEC OUTDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS
Missouri track and field capped off the 2024 SEC Outdoor Championships with a standout performance from Euphenie Andre, who claimed gold in the women's triple jump on her final attempt of day three. The Tigers wrapped up the weekend with 16 top-eight finishes and solid team efforts, placing 12th in the men's standings (33 points) and 13th on the women's side (21 points).
Andre's season-best leap of 13.32m (43-8.5) not only secured the Tigers' lone event title of the weekend but also ranked 12th nationally.

Mitch Weber led the group with a bronze-medal throw of 59.85m (196-4)—his third career SEC medal—while Coffey (fifth), Rece Rowan (sixth), and George (seventh) rounded out an impressive showing from the squad.
Day one set the tone with several top-eight performances across throws, distance, and combined events. Saldutto cracked the 70-meter barrier in men's javelin (70.52m/231-4), landing eighth.
