Tigers Open Play at the Blessings Collegiate

Mizzou men's and women's golf teams opened play at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational Monday.
Senior Addie Dobson led the women's team on the day, carding a four-over 76 to finish the opening round in 11th. Senior Melanie Walker finished just one shot behind, posting a five-over 77, standing at 15th after day one.
Overall, the women's team finished the day in seventh at +23 with Arkansas leading through 18.
Senior Virgilio Paz posted a two-over 74, leading the men's team on day one and finishing the first round in 11th. He turned in two birdies on the front and back for a team-high four birdies on the day. Junior Veikka Viskari also finished in the top-20, carding a four-over 76 to finish in 20th.
The men's team is eighth at +18 but is just five strokes out of fourth. Arkansas leads after the first round at +5.
After day one, the teams finished with a combined score of +41, placing eighth of 10 teams with Arkansas leading at a combined +7.
The men's team continues play Tuesday off of the 10th tee at 9:00 a.m. with the women teeing off of the 10th at 8:15 a.m.
