COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Baseball earned its seventh and eighth-straight wins on Saturday, taking both games of a double header from North Dakota State at Taylor Stadium to complete the series sweep of the Bison. The Tigers have now won all four series to begin the season and have swept three in a row.
Lefty closer Ian Lohse recorded the save in both games to grow his SEC-leading total to four, pitching a combined 2.0 scoreless innings while giving up just one hit and striking out three Bison (1-10, 0-0 Summit). Tyler Macon and Jase Woita remained hot at the plate for Mizzou (10-2, 0-0 SEC), going a combined 7-for-16 with three walks in the double header, scoring four runs and driving in three.
GAME ONE RECAP
Mizzou's offense had another hot start, putting two runs on the board in the first inning. Tyler Macon led off with a single to right center, extending his hit streak to 10 games. Jase Woita followed it up with a single of his own to extend his own hit streak to seven games. With runners on first and third, Blaize Ward hit a sacrifice fly to deep left field to bring Woita home, putting the Tigers up 1-0, before a bases-loaded walk from Eric Maisonet scored Mateo Serna and extended the lead to 2-0. The Bison took a 3-2 lead with runs in the second, third and fifth innings.
The Tigers took the lead back in the fifth, started by an RBI groundout to the first baseman from Maisonet that brought Ward in to tie the game up at 3-3. With runners on second and third, Chris Patterson put Mizzou back on top with a single up the middle that brought Cameron Benson and Jamal George around to score.
RHP Josh McDevitt had a solid day, pitching 4.0 innings and giving up three runs on three hits before LHP Kadden Drew and RHP PJ Green combined to close out the inning. Green ended up going 2.1 scoreless innings, where he allowed just two hits and earned his first win of the season. RHP Sam Rosand relieved Green in the eighth where he retired all three batters he faced before handing the ball over to LHP Ian Lohse to come in and close things out in the ninth. The sixth-year closer punched out two of the three batters he faced to earn his third save of the season.

GAME TWO RECAP
The Bison got on the board with a solo homer to left field in the third inning, but their lead didn't last long. A deep infield single to the shortstop off the bat of Jamal George brought Jase Woita in to score, moving Mateo Serna over to third base. Cameron Benson laid down a pretty bunt for a base hit to the right side that drove in Serna and bumped Benson up to second base. Maisonet kept things rolling with a bunt of his own that danced with the third base line and stayed fair, loading the bases for Sam Parker. A bases-loaded walk by Parker gave Mizzou a free run, scoring George to give the Tigers a 3-1 lead through four.

He delivered with a ground ball to the shortstop that resulted in an error while Woita came in to score, putting the Tigers up 4-1 through five.
The Bison were able to score four runs in the sixth inning on five hits and a walk. With two outs and the bases loaded, a heads-up play from NDSU baserunner Noah Gordon resulted in a steal of home, giving the Bison a one-run lead and the momentum.
In a tough spot, freshman LHP Isaiah Salas entered with the bases loaded and nobody out in the sixth. He turned in a strong outing out of the bullpen in his debut at Taylor Stadium, going 2.1 scoreless innings and giving up just one hit and recording three strikeouts. With one out in the eighth, RHP Trey Lawrence entered the game to close out the inning, throwing just six pitches and notching a strikeout.
Trailing 5-4 in the eighth, a walk by Parker followed by a hit-by-pitch off the chest of Patterson gave Mizzou runners on first and second with nobody out. Macon came to the plate with his 10-game hit streak in risk of coming to an end, but stepped up and delivered an RBI single down the right field line on an 0-2 count, bringing pinch runner Donovan Jordan in to score from second, extending Macon's hit streak to eleven games. In a tie game, Woita came to the plate and came through with a two-run single to left field that brought Patterson and Macon in to score, giving the Tigers a 7-5 lead with three outs to get.
Lohse entered in the ninth to close things out for the second time on the day. After allowing a lead-off single, he recorded a popout, a groundout and a strikeout to seal the win and earn his second save of the day, and his league-leading fourth of the campaign.
