With a sixth place finish, the senior collects an All-American recognition for the second consecutive year.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Mizzou track and field's Sam Innes was named a First Team All-American following his weight throw performance at the 2026 NCAA Indoor Championship on Friday afternoon at the Randal Tyson Track & Field Center in Fayetteville, Ark.
The school record holder placed sixth with a season-best 22.70m (74-5¾). He adds the accolade to his Second Team recognition at last year's competition after recording a 20.97m (68-9.75) to place 14th.
Innes' throw marks the best result in the program's history of All-Americans for the men's event, and stands as the third-highest finish at the contest after Russ Bell secured fifth in 2002 and Chris Wohr notched third in 2009.
