
Kobi Walker Places 16th at 2026 FISU World University Championship for Cross Country

The freshman represented her home country of Australia in the women’s short race.
CASSINO, Italy – Mizzou track and field's Kobi Walker claimed 16th place in the women's short race at the 2026 International University Sports Federation World University Championship (FISU) for cross country on Saturday morning.
The freshman, running for Team Australia, clocked a 10:20.00 in the women's individual short race, which spans a 3k. The result earned her 16th place, standing in the top third of the competition and the second-best time for Australia in the event.
In addition to Walker's home country, 18 other countries were represented in the race: France, Spain, Belgium, Italy, Kenya, Austria, Great Britain, Canada, The Netherlands, Germany, Algeria, New Zealand, Hungary, Turkey, Puerto Rico, Chile, Côte d'Ivoire and Uganda.
Walker entered the event coming out of a strong indoor track and field season, notching 29th in the 3000m at the Southeastern Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship with a personal record of 9:26.55.
