After leading the Tigers to a pair of Southeastern Conference victories last week, senior forward Mark Mitchell was honored with SEC Player of the Week accolades on Monday.
In victories over No. 22 Tennessee and Mississippi State, Mitchell averaged 20.0 points and 3.5 rebounds while shooting 58.3 percent from the field and 80.0 percent from the line, making 12-of-15 from the charity stripe.
Mitchell opened the week with a 23-point game in a win over nationally-ranked Tennessee, connecting on 8-of-13 from the field. The win marked the Tigers' third ranked victory of the season. It also marked the 12th game this season that Mitchell has scored 20 or more points for the Black & Gold.
Mitchell then followed it up with 17 points and four boards in the 24-point win over Mississippi State in Humphrey Coliseum on Saturday.
Mitchell has led the Tigers throughout the 2025-26 season as Mizzou has won six of their last eight contests. In 29 contests overall, Mitchell is averaging a team-best 17.4 points, 3.7 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game. He is aiming to become just the second Tiger in school history to lead the Tigers in all three statistics, while he is one of eight players in the nation with 500 points, 150 rebounds and 100 assists this season.
Mitchell and the Tigers return to action on Tuesday at Oklahoma, tipping off at 6 p.m. on ESPNU.
