
Track and Field’s Trio of 10,000m Athletes Compete at Day One of Bryan Clay Invitational

Three distance runners represented the Tigers in the first day of competition at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
AZUSA, Calif. – Missouri track and field's 10,000 meter distance runners took the stage on the first day of the Bryan Clay Invitational Thursday night at Cougar Athletic Stadium.
Monica Wanjiku opened the competition for Missouri by placing 5th in the 10,000m with a 32:28.20. Mirriam Chepkirui followed in the next heat, securing a personal best of 34:21.83 to take 17th and rank tenth on Missouri's all-time records. Her finish improved her previous record by over three seconds.
Drew Rogers represented the men in the 10,000m, crossing the finish line in 28:47.49 to claim 9th. This marks the second time in his career that he finished the race in less than 29 minutes, the first being when he broke the school record at the 2025 Raleigh Relays with a 28:14.27.

UP NEXT
The Tigers will cap off the Bryan Clay Invitational Friday night with Suzy Lecoutre and Kobi Walker racing the 5000m at Cougar Athletic Stadium. Another group will represent the Black and Gold at the Big Red Classic in Lincoln, Neb., with the first event slated for 11 a.m. at Bob Devaney Sports Center.
