Carlsbad, Calif. – The Mizzou women's golf team continued its magical run during the 2025-26 season, finishing the first round of the NCAA Championship Finals in the top 10 nationally.
Making their first appearance in the final as a team in 21 years, the Tigers currently sit in seventh place through 18 holes after recording a team score of 287 (-1). The 287 tally is the team's best performance in a single round at the NCAA Finals, topping the previous standard by nine strokes (296 in 2005).
All five Tigers in action find themselves in the top 60 nationally through one day. Senior Jade Zamora had a successful return to her home state and led Mizzou with a one-under tally of 71 – tying Denise Knaebel (2005) for the best individual round by a Tiger at the NCAA Finals in school history. After two bogeys in her first four holes, Zamora quickly settled the ship with a birdie on her fifth hole of the day before adding two more without a single bogey in the final 14 holes as she places 24th overall in the 156-golfer field.
Three Tigers are tied for second at even par as Fleur van Beek, Addie Dobson and Ebba Liljeberg are tied for 41st overall. Melanie Walker rounded out the Mizzou five by placing 60th at +1.
Day two of the NCAA Finals is set for Saturday with the Tigers teeing off at 2:45 p.m. CT.
