ZOU NOTES
• Mizzou has started the season 4-0 with victories over Wake Forest and UAPB at home along with road wins at Wichita State and Missouri State.
• Freshman Sophie Cunningham (Columbia, Mo.) set new Mizzou Women's Basketball single-game scoring record with 42 points in Sunday's 94-81 victory over Wake Forest. In only the fourth game of her young Mizzou career, Cunningham has established the highest scoring mark in all of NCAA Division I this season.
• The previous record of 41 points was held by Renee Kelly in a Jan. 25, 1986 contest vs. Oklahoma in the Hearnes Center. Kelly is the program's second-leading scorer all-time with 2,119 points. Cunningham leads the SEC in scoring with 21.5 points per game.
• Cunningham scored 25 points in the first half alone, going 9-for-10 from the field, 4-for-5 from 3-point range and 3-for-3 from the foul line during the first 20 minutes. She added 14 points in the fourth quarter to take down the scoring record that has stood for nearly 30 years.
• Mizzou ranks 20th nationally in rebounding margin (+15.3). The Tigers are outrebounding opponents 44.2-29.0 through four games.
EARLY SEASON NOTABLES
• Mizzou head coach Robin Pingeton signed a new 5-year contract through the 2019-20 season that was announced on Oct. 2. She earned her 80th victory at Mizzou on Nov. 13 at Missouri State.
• In the 57-37 victory at Wichita State on Nov. 18, Mizzou ended the Shockers' 17-game home winning streak and also held WSU to its lowest point total at home since Dec. 18, 1989, spanning nearly 26 years.
• Freshman forward Cierra Porter (Columbia, Mo.) has scored in double figures in each of the last two games.
• Senior guard Maddie Stock (Town & Country, Mo.) has moved into sole possession of seventh in program history with 114 baskets from long range. She drained a career-high 54 triples in 2014-15.
• Last season, Mizzou ranked 12th in the country in field goal percentage defense (35.1). Through three games, the Tigers have limited the opposition to a 30.2 percent shooting percentage from the field and a 28.6 percent shooting line from beyond the 3-point arc.
